Our club, or "Dojo" is located in West Elizabeth, Pennsylvania. You can reach West Elizabeth from downtown Pittsburgh in under thirty minutes. The following are directions to the dojo from the general area of Pittsburgh. From Pittsburgh, take Route 51 (Saw Mill Run Boulevard) south. Proceed past Century III Mall on Route 51 until you reach the Elizabeth Bridge. This is the first "major" bridge that you will encounter on Route 51. The bridge is approximately 13 miles from the Liberty Tunnels, and approximately 6 miles from the area of Century III Mall. When you come to the Elizabeth Bridge, Route 51 will make a hard right across the bridge. You do not want to go across the bridge. As you approach the bridge, get into the left lane. From the left lane, take the left exit immediately before the bridge, following the sign for West Elizabeth/Pittsburgh (Rt.837S/Rt. 51N). This exit will turn you around 180 degrees in the opposite direction. As soon as you take this exit, stay in the left lane and take the exit ramp for West Elizabeth (Rt.837S). Please be careful, as this interchange is tricky. Once you have exited on this ramp, you are on the main road of West Elizabeth. Follow this road for approximately 1/3 mile, until you come to a church and a former school building on the right. Take the road that goes between these two buildings (Lincoln Street). The dojo is in the school building (you should see a sign "Performance Martial Arts and Fitness"). Parking is on the street. If you decide to visit our dojo and join us for a class, please wear something which will allow you to work out (e.g. sweatclothes). If you already have a martial arts gi, please feel free to wear it. If you decide to join the club, you can purchase a uniform. It is also a good idea to call ahead to let us know of your intention to visit, although you are welcome to just drop in. |
