In Memory

Sensei Dick Miller (1925 –2006)

Our humble school owes a debt of gratitude to our founder Richard A. Miller. Were it not for his passion and dedication, we would not exist.

Although it is sometimes difficult to express exactly how deeply someone affects our lives, those of us who knew and trained with Sensei Miller will always remember his soft-spoken demeanor and his humble ways. Indeed we count ourselves most fortunate, for not only did we benefit from his extensive background in both Judo and Aikido, but from his personal desire to find peace and harmony in the world. Perhaps it was the strength of his commitment to this art that endeared him to us, or perhaps it was simply the smile that we so often saw in his eyes.

Trying to quantify our thoughts and feelings however, would only serve to diminish the depth of his efforts. And so it is with gratitude and fond memories that we step onto the mat, pausing perhaps for just one more moment to say, “Thank You Sensei.”
